Where to Play Pull Tabs in Woodinville
If you are looking for pull tabs in Woodinville, Rooneys Sports Bar runs 30 bowls at the bar, open 11 AM to 2 AM every day, and 9 AM on football Saturdays and Sundays. We are at 17626 140th Ave NE in the Woodinville Towne Center, with free parking in the lot. Rooneys is 21 and over.
Ask any bartender and they will hand you a basket. That is the whole process.
What pull tabs actually are
If you did not grow up around Washington taverns, pull tabs take about ten seconds to explain.
A pull tab is a small paper ticket with perforated windows on the back. You pull the tabs open, and the symbols underneath tell you whether that ticket is a winner. No screen, no buttons, no waiting. It is the most analog thing in the building, which is a fair part of the appeal in a room with twenty televisions in it.
Tickets come in sets, and each set has its own board on the wall behind the bar. That board is the part people miss. It lists every prize in that particular set and how many of each are still unclaimed, which means you can actually see what is left before you decide to play. Most forms of gambling do not show you their hand like that.
Each set plays out, comes down, and a new one goes up. So the wall changes over.
Thirty bowls at the bar
Rooneys keeps 30 pull tab bowls going, which is a lot for a room this size. It means there is always a mix: sets that just went up, sets that are most of the way through, cheap tickets and pricier ones.
They live right along the bar, so this is not a back-corner machine you have to go find. Grab a stool, order a beer, get a basket, and work through it between innings. It is the kind of thing you do with one eye on the game.
If you have never played, tell the bartender that. They will walk you through a board, point out what the numbers mean and let you pick your own set.
Why Washington bars have them
Pull tabs have been part of the tavern landscape in Washington for decades. They are legal here, regulated by the state, and operated by licensed taverns and nonprofits. A lot of neighborhood bars that closed over the years took their pull tab walls with them, which is part of why the ones still running feel like a holdover from an older kind of bar.
Rooneys is locally owned, and this is one of the things that shows it. Nobody installs a 30-bowl pull tab wall to hit a corporate target. It is there because regulars like it.
Play it for what it is
Pull tabs are entertainment, the same as feeding the jukebox or racking a game of pool. Set yourself a number before you start, enjoy it, and stop when you get there. It is a good way to spend twenty dollars and a bad way to try to make forty.
If gambling stops being fun for you or someone you know, the Washington State Problem Gambling Helpline is at 1-800-547-6133, free and confidential, 24 hours.
What else is going on while you play

The pull tab wall is one corner of a much bigger room.
There are two of the only real pool tables left in Woodinville, free all day Thursday, plus two league-ready electronic dartboards, Golden Tee, Godzilla pinball, shuffleboard and a Touch Tunes jukebox. More on the tables here.
Twenty big-screen TVs and two projector screens cover whatever is being broadcast, which through the fall means every game the defending Super Bowl champion Seahawks play. The full season guide is here.
And we serve food until last call every night, switching to a limited fryer-only late-night menu as it gets late. House-ground burgers, hand-cut wings, Mondo Nachos, bacon cheese tots and the rest of the scratch menu. Full menu here.
